The Hammers of Sigmar!

First off apologies for not getting much on this blog in recent months.  This is in part due to being really busy with my work, which is a good thing now that I'm self-employed.  But it's also because of what has probably been the worst winter of wargaming on record.  My gaming friends have been battling colds on and off since the start of November.  And when we could play a game, my home has been in quarantine due to the rest of the family coming down with various versions of the plague.  And then, when 2018 segued into 2019, my ability to walk through the coughs, wheezes and snivels unharmed came to an end.

Sigh.

However, I have been using what little free time I've had to get back into painting and d good on my promise to make this the year of actually having painted armies so I can actually play some of the games I've been wanting to play for a long while.

But first up, Age of Sigmar.  It's the next game on the bucket list with my friends, so it seems logical to make this the first project.

I've been able to put together a 2K force for my Stormcast Eternals and am away to embark on a Path to Glory Campaign so I can build and paint alongside some gaming.  This, you'll understand, is a very good thing.

My Path to Glory Force will be led by a Lord Arcanum on Gryph Charger, giving me three units.  For these, I'm taking a Knight-Incantor, three Castigators and three Sequitors.

So here's what I've been working on so far this year.

I'll not win any awards for my painting style or my camera work, but I'm really happy with the results so far.

And yes, Hammers of Sigmar.  I'm a sucker for the paint scheme.  The fact I play Smurfs in 40K is purely coincidental...

Of course, I still need to apply a number of flocks to the bases, so they're not properly finished.  But if nothing else this shows I haven't completely dropped off the planet.

Did I mention I've already started a Beastclaw Raiders force and begun collecting Kharadron Overlords and Nighthaunt armies?  Not to mention the arrival of the Gloomspite Gitz which seriously needs to happen.  Then again, so too do the Maggotkin of Nurgle...  Yes, I'm well and truly down this rabbit warren...
